About EBA Game Pages

Welcome to the EpicBattleAxe game pages. This is where we compile all of the information for a particular game including news, previews, reviews and more. There are a few things that make our game pages a bit different than other websites. Let's take a gander:

REVIEWS

This is probably the biggest differentiating factor between "us" and "them". Having worked in the game industry for a while now, there seems to be one glaring problem that nobody can overcome; review scores. The fact is, when you try to assign a numerical value to something that CAN'T or SHOULDN'T have one, well, it opens the door to trouble. That's why our reviews are guaranteed to positively NEVER assign a SCORE to a game! What a novel idea! I don't care it's a number system, a letter system or an astrological sign system, as soon as you give game A an ABC and game B an XYZ, you've fallen into the trap. Publishers want review scores so they can slap a number on the box or in an ad. Simple as that. We at EBA want to change that mentality so that the actual CONTENT of the review is the focus as opposed to the SCORE. Besides, when scores are involved, most readers jump to the last page of the review just to see it and bypass the majority of the review. I think this sucks. I think that if you're a gamer (chances are high if you're on this site), then you probably WANT to take a few moments to figure out if a game is worth your hard-earned cash. That's why we at EBA will deliver FACTUAL INFORMATION and ENTERTAINING OPINIONS in our reviews. Nothing more, nothing less.

PREVIEWS

This is another area where the industry needs some help. I'll be honest...most previews you see are slanted. Too much of a focus on the positive aspects of a game and not enough constructive criticism have watered down previews in the gaming biz. Our previews will be short and sweet, punctuated by a list of the aspects to be excited about and those that we feel need some work.

LINKS

Each game page on EpicBattleAxe will have relevant links to content pertaining to that game from around the web. Why? Well, because we're gamers and we know that if you're interested in a game you probably want to find out as much about it as possible. We don't care if that info is hosted by another website. We're providing you with a service and we want you to feel like you're getting the information you want/need when you pay us a visit.

Other (pretty standard) things you can do on our game pages is add a comment about the game, send the page to a friend and submit a link you think should be on the site. Overall, the game pages on EpicBattleAxe should be a FUN place to learn about games and we'll continually do our best to cut through the BS and get you what you want.

CHEERS!
